BBC/WM - EDDIE BOWCOTT &
RICHARD BENNETT RADIO BROADCAST (EXTRACT FROM BROADCAST)
RADIO WM - THE LEE STONE SHOW
WEDNESDAY 5TH JULY (11.00pm)
Richard Bennett: "The Childlost site can be accessed
within minutes of verification and it works well."
Lee: "Now for anyone who wants to have a look
at the site, as you said it can't hurt, if you want to look at the site
then you are welcome to, and it is let me tell you, an optimistic site,
not a bleak site, it is a bleak subject, there is no question about
that and we do hear about terrible things happening, but we also hear
as young Andrew Bishop proved that we can have success and things don't
have to end terribly. The childlo.st site if you want to look at it,
is www.childlo.st, in other words it is childlost, but with a dot between
the "o" and the "s", so let me explain it once more. www.childlo.st,
with a dot in the middle of the lost, so lo.st. O.K.? Don't try to run
before you can walk, by the way, don't then try to add your .co.uk or
your .com, or whatever else because that is how they have done it. The
"st" is the bit at the end, they have been a bit clever, and the "st"
at the end replaces the .co.uk or .com, or whatever and if I am talking
gibberish to you I am sorry."
Eddie Bowcott: "Can I explain it Lee perhaps?"
Lee: "Yes, if you want to, yeah"
Eddie:"What we have got with childlo.st is all
you have to remember is the word "childlost", you don't have to remember
anything else, no .com's, no .co.uk's or any other suffix at all. The
last two letters are the suffix, and the "st" is the suffix in this
case. All you have to put into the computer is www.childlo.st, but remember
that the "st" at the end is the suffix part of the word "lost". So just
childlost is the word that you have to remember."
Lee: O.K., and as I say, apologies if you are
not a computer person and you think what are you going on about, with
your .coms and st's, but a lot of people will I am sure have a look
at that and see what they can do, and of course it works in a way like
a news site as well, we will be telling people, you will be able to
see it on our website if you want to, www.bbc.co.uk, but you will be
keeping an eye on the media as well and your sources and making sure
that when developments do occur we will hear about them.
Richard: "Absolutely. We are so grateful to people
like yourself helping us to highlight this site, it is all well and
good having this website but if people don't know about it, there is
no point in having it."
Lee: I am sure that a lot of people will have
a log on tonight and have a look at it.
Eddie:"Before we go, Lee, I wonder if you would
be kind enough to let me, I have got a very dedicated team working on
Childlost, they have had no sleep over the last five nights, there are
only three people to mention who are working long hours, perhaps could
I give them a thank you over the air?"
Lee: "Yes, of course"
Eddie:"They are working this evening, they will
be monitoring the situation, I would like to thank our dedicated staff
at childlost here in Birmingham which is Helen, Shelly and Angelo, and
I am sorry John of course our Guru."
Lee: "Don't forget John, you'll be in big trouble
if you forget John."
Eddie:"He is the guy who looks after the server
and he is under a lot of pressure at the moment."
Lee: "We all know what happens if you forget about
John on a day like this. So, you are all doing great work, so thank
you very much for coming in and telling the listeners about it."
Eddie:"Thank you"
Lee: Once again it is www.childlo.st, and the
st is the bit that has the dot in front of it. O.K., I hope that all
makes sense, I am sure it will do. If you want to be part of the programme,
the lines are open now. 0845 3039303.
